September 2019.  Wardman Avenue Street Reconstruction is moving forward with the street being "blocked" (removal of curbs and driveway aprons, grading of the street) in preparation of flatwork.  Flatwork includes leveling the site, installation of new curbs, electric conduit, and sidewalks.  This work will begin the first or second week of October, weather permitting. Work on paving of the street can begin once the curbs are in place.  Substantial Completion is set for November 1.   Crews are now working Monday through Saturday.  Property remediation and tree planting will take place after the winter.

The Community Center is also nearing completion. All HVAC, LED lighting, flooring, bathrooms and landscaping are completed.  New windows have been installed.  Work is being done on the kitchen space.  We plan on reopening the Center and welcoming back our Seniors to the Nutrition Program sometime in October.

The Kenmore Farmers Market continues each Sunday 9 AM - 1 PM on the Village Green (corner of Delaware Rd and Delaware Avenue).  Now that Fall is here, come out and enjoy all the apples!

The Kenmore Volunteer Fire Department is hosting an Open House at the Fire Department - 16 Nash Road on October 12th, 11 AM - 2 PM.  We are always looking for new volunteers!  Please come out and learn more about the Fire Department!

August 2019.  There are many capital projects going on throughout the Village, totaling approximately 5.3 Million.  All of these projects reflect Kenmore's on-going efforts to invest in our buildings and infrastructure.

Work is nearing completion at the Kenmore Community Center.  This project included a full asbestos removal, new HVAC, a new roof,  new energy-efficient windows, LED lighting and the installation of new handicap-accessible bathrooms.  Work also includes new flooring in the two main community spaces. The Center will re-open sometime in September. The estimated cost of this project is $1.1M.  The Water main on Wabash has been installed and work is currently in progress on Kinsey.  This project cost $1.5M  The full street reconstruction of Wardman (between Myron and Colvin) is also underway.  This project includes new water, storm and water lines, new curbs and sidewalks and repaving.  This project will cost approximately $2.5M.  The Wilber Sidewalk project started this month and includes work between Kenmore Avenue and Hoover as well as sidewalks in and around the Community Center.

While we appreciate that these projects present some inconvenience, we hope you'll "excuse our dust" knowing that each of these projects shows your tax dollars being used to improve Kenmore.

January, 2019.  The Village of Kenmore is currently advertising for bids for a capital project involving the Kenmore Community Center, located at 135 Wilber.  This project involves renovations to the Center, including a new roof, new energy-efficient windows, some new flooring, new heating and cooling, and new bathrooms.  The estimated cost for Phase I of this project is $1.1M.  Funding for this project comes from a borrowing and from a $500,000 grant secured through NYS Assemblyman Robin Schimminger.  Due to the extensive work involved, the Center will be closed throughout construction.  Programs that take place at the Center will be relocated.  Work will begin in the Spring.
