EXECUTIVE SESSION TO DISCUSS  1 LITIGATION, 1 PUBLIC SAFETY, 1 PERSONNEL (HEALTH) and 2 FINANCIAL MATTERS___     

 

Trustee McCarthy moved to go into Executive Session to discuss one (1) litigation, one (1) public safety, one (1) personnel (health), and two (2) financial matters.

            Seconded by Trustee Catalano and adopted by a full vote in the affirmative.

 

            Trustee McCarthy moved to end the Executive Session.

 

            Seconded by Trustee Catalano and adopted by a full vote of all members present.

The meeting was called to order at 8:00 p.m. by Mayor Patrick Mang. The Mayor led the Pledge of Allegiance.  

BOARD APPROVED THE APPOINTMENT OF JOSHUA B. DAVIDSON AS A PERMANENT PROBATIONARY POLICE OFFICER FOR THE KENMORE POLICE DEPARTMENT                                                

Trustee Bestine moved to approve the appointment of Joshua B. Davidson , as a permanent probationary Police Officer for the Kenmore Police Department, effective July 29, 2013.

 

Seconded by Trustee McCarthy and adopted by a full vote in the affirmative.

BOARD APPROVED THE APPOINTMENT OF JUSTIN P. BREITNAUER AS A PERMANENT PROBATIONARY POLICE OFFICER FOR THE KENMORE POLICE DEPARTMENT                                               

Trustee Muscarella moved to approve the appointment of Justin P. Breitnauer, as a permanent probationary Police Officer for the Kenmore Police Department, effective July 29, 2013.

 

Seconded by Trustee Catalano and adopted by a full vote in the affirmative.  

BOARD APPROVED A LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE VILLAGE OF KENMORE AND THE VILLAGE OF WILLIAMSVILLE.    

Trustee McCarthy moved to a Letter of Understanding for shared services between the Village of Kenmore and the Village of Williamsville pertaining to road salt, a copy of which is appended to these minutes for record purposes.

 

Seconded by Trustee Catalano and adopted by a full vote of all members present.

BOARD APPROVED THE ISSUANCE OF A MASTER ELECTRICIAN’S LICENSE TO MICHAEL E. ACOSTA.                                                                             

 

Trustee Bestine moved to approve the issuance of a Master Electrician’s license to Michael E. Acosta of 251 Bentham Parkway, East Williamsville.

 

Seconded by Trustee Muscarella and adopted by a full vote of all members present.

BOARD APPROVED THE APPOINTMENT OF KATHLEEN FILIPSKI AS A SUBSTITUTE CROSSING GUARD.                                                                                 

Trustee Catalano moved to approve the appointment of Kathleen Filipski of 215 Hoover Avenue, as a substitute Crossing Guard for the Village of Kenmore, effective August 7, 2013, at a pay rate of $12.00 per hour.

Seconded by Trustee McCarthy and adopted by a full vote in the affirmative.

BOARD APPROVED THE APPOINTMENT OF ZACHARY OLIVERI AS A REGULAR PART-TIME PUBLIC SAFETY DISPATCHER.                                              

 

Trustee McCarthy moved to approve the appointment of Zachary Oliveri of 354 Warren Avenue, as a regular part-time Public Safety Dispatcher for the Village of Kenmore, effective August 7, 2013, at a pay rate of $13.97 per hour.

 

Seconded by Trustee Muscarella and adopted by a full vote in the affirmative.

BOARD APPROVED THE GET FIT KENMORE 5K RACE AND ROUTE AT THE REQUEST OF MELISSA FOSTER AND THE KENMORE VILLAGE IMPROVEMENT SOCIETY.                                                                                         

 

Trustee Bestine moved to approve the September 14, 2013 Get Fit Kenmore 5K race and route at the request of Melissa Foster and the Kenmore Village Improvement Society.

 

Seconded by Trustee Catalano and adopted by a full vote in the affirmative.

BOARD APPROVED THE STOP PAYMENT AND REISSUE OF A CHECK.      

 

Trustee Muscarella moved to approve the stop payment and reissue of a check written on our payroll account an employee in the amount of $605.14 and dated July 31, 2013.

 

Seconded by Trustee Bestine and adopted by a full vote in the affirmative. 

 

 

 

 

BOARD APPROVED AND GRANTED PERMISSION TO THE RESIDENTS OF MCKINLEY AVENUE TO HOLD A BLOCK PARTY.                                                     

 

Trustee McCarthy moved to approve and grant permission to the residents of McKinley Avenue between Delaware Road and Myron Avenue, to hold a block party on Saturday, September 14, 2013, at the request of Bob Reeves.

 

Seconded by Trustee Bestine and adopted by a full vote in the affirmative.

BOARD APPROVED AND GRANTED PERMISSION TO THE RESIDENTS OF COLUMBIA BOULEVARD TO HOLD A BLOCK PARTY.                                     

 

Trustee Muscarella moved to approve and grant permission to the residents of Columbia Boulevard, to hold a block party on Sunday, August 25, 2013, at the request of Melisa Dettbarn.

 

Seconded by Trustee Bestine and adopted by a full vote in the affirmative. 

 

 

 

 

BOARD APPROVED AND GRANTED PERMISSION TO THE RESIDENTS OF ARGONNE DRIVE TO HOLD A BLOCK PARTY.                                                           

 

Trustee Catalano moved to approve and grant permission to the residents of Argonne Drive between Myron Avenue and Rowley Avenue, to hold a block party on Saturday, August 31, 2013, at the request of Laurie Gauthier.

 

Seconded by Trustee McCarthy and adopted by a full vote in the affirmative.

BOARD APPROVED AND GRANTED PERMISSION TO THE RESIDENTS OF WARDMAN ROAD TO HOLD A BLOCK PARTY.                                                     

Trustee Muscarella moved to approve and grant permission to the residents of Wardman Road between Myron Avenue and Delaware Road, to hold a block party on Saturday, September 14, 2013, at the request of Frederick Frank.

 

Seconded by Trustee Bestine and adopted by a full vote in the affirmative.

   

ABSTRACT OF AUDITED VOUCHERS.                                                                     

Trustee Catalano offered the following resolution and moved its adoption:

 

RESOLVED, that the Mayor be and he hereby is authorized to sign the Abstract of Audited Vouchers dated August 6, 2013, in the amount of $508,717.95; General Fund $398,467.10; Water Fund $89,159.22; Sewer Fund $21,091.63 and to direct the Treasurer to pay each of the listed claimants in the amount appearing opposite his/her name.

 

Seconded by Trustee McCarthy and adopted by a full vote in the affirmative.

INVITATION FOR PUBLIC COMMENT/QUESTIONS                                               

The Mayor asked if anyone wished to be heard.

As no one else wished to be heard the meeting was adjourned.

The next meeting of the Board of Trustees will be August 20, 2013 at 8:00 p.m. at the Kenmore Municipal Building.
