EXECUTIVE SESSION TO DISCUSS TWO FINANCIAL, ONE PUBLIC SAFETY AND ONE PERSONNEL (DISCIPLINARY) MATTERS.
Trustee McCarthy moved to go into Executive Session to discuss two (2) financial matters; one (1) public safety matter, and one (1) personnel (disciplinary) matter.
Seconded by Trustee Catalano and adopted by a full vote in the affirmative.
Trustee Catalano moved to end the Executive Session.
Seconded by Trustee McCarthy and adopted by a full vote of all members present.

The meeting was called to order at 8:00 p.m. by Mayor Patrick Mang. The Mayor led the Pledge of Allegiance.
BOARD APPROVED THE APPOINTMENT OF JOSHUA B. DAVIDSON AS A TEMPORARY PROBATIONARY POLICE OFFICER FOR THE KENMORE POLICE DEPARTMENT
Trustee McCarthy moved to approve the appointment of Joshua B. Davidson, as a temporary probationary Police Officer for the Kenmore Police Department,
effective July 29, 2013, at a salary of $53,329.00.
The Mayor noted that Officer Davidson was not able to attend due to a prior obligation, but he extended his congratulations to Officer Davidson who has served as Dispatcher for the Kenmore Police Department for the past five years.
Seconded by Trustee Muscarella and adopted by a full vote in the affirmative.
BOARD APPROVED THE APPOINTMENT OF JUSTIN P. BREITNAUER AS A TEMPORARY PROBATIONARY POLICE OFFICER FOR THE KENMORE POLICE DEPARTMENT
Trustee Catalano moved to approve the appointment of Justin P. Breitnauer, as a temporary probationary Police Officer for the Kenmore Police Department,
effective July 29, 2013, at a salary of $53,329.00.
The Mayor congratulated Officer Breitnauer and asked him to introduce his family.
Seconded by Trustee McCarthy and adopted by a full vote in the affirmative.
BOARD APPROVED THE PERMANENT APPOINTMENT OF PETER J. BREITNAUER AS THE VILLAGE OF KENMORE POLICE CHIEF
Trustee Muscarella moved to approve the permanent appointment of Peter J. Breitnauer, as the Village of Kenmore Police Chief, effective July 17, 2013.
The Mayor congratulated Chief Breitnauer and explained that he’s been serving as Interim Chief pending the results of the Civil Service exam. The Mayor stated that we just received the results and that Chief Breitnauer passed with “flying colors”. The Mayor said that the Board is happy to make this a permanent appointment.
Seconded by Trustee Catalano and adopted by a full vote of all members present.
BOARD APPROVED THE APPOINTMENT OF JERRY SWEITZER AS A PART-TIME SENIOR VAN DRIVER.
Trustee Catalano moved to approve the appointment of Jerry Sweitzer, as a part-time senior van driver, effective July 17, 2013, at a pay rate of $9.89 per hour.
Seconded by Trustee Muscarella and adopted by a full vote of all members present.
BOARD APPROVED AND GRANTED PERMISSION TO THE RESIDENTS OF VICTORIA BOULEVARD TO HOLD A BLOCK PARTY.
Trustee McCarthy moved to approve and grant permission to the residents of Victoria Boulevard between Wilber Avenue and Melrose Avenue, to hold a block party on Saturday, August 3, 2013, at the request of Katie Adamczak.
Seconded by Trustee Muscarella and adopted by a full vote in the affirmative.
BOARD APPROVED AND GRANTED PERMISSION TO THE RESIDENTS OF EAST HAZELTINE AVENUE TO HOLD A BLOCK PARTY.
Trustee Catalano moved to approve and grant permission to the residents of East Hazeltine Avenue between Colvin Boulevard and Charleston Avenue, to hold a block party on Saturday, August 3, 2013, at the request of Karin Connerton.
Seconded by Trustee McCarthy and adopted by a full vote in the affirmative.
BOARD APPROVED AND GRANTED PERMISSION TO THE RESIDENTS OF WARDMAN ROAD TO HOLD A BLOCK PARTY.
Trustee Muscarella moved to approve and grant permission to the residents of Wardman Road between Myron Avenue and Rowley Avenue, to hold a block party on Saturday, August 17, 2013, with a rain date of Saturday, August 24, 2013, at the request of Samara Hutcheson.
Seconded by Trustee McCarthy and adopted by a full vote in the affirmative.
ABSTRACT OF AUDITED VOUCHERS.
Trustee Catalano offered the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLVED, that the Mayor be and he hereby is authorized to sign the Abstract of Audited Vouchers dated July 16, 2013, in the amount of $238,269.43; General Fund $117,114.33; Community Development Fund $375.00; Water Fund $32,145.92; Sewer Fund $88,634.18 and to direct the Treasurer to pay each of the listed claimants in the amount appearing opposite his/her name.
Seconded by Trustee McCarthy and adopted by a full vote in the affirmative.
INVITATION FOR PUBLIC COMMENT/QUESTIONS
The Mayor asked if anyone wished to be heard.
Sandra Toth of 332 Westgate stated that there is a need in Kenmore for a dog park.
Clerk/Treasurer Kathleen Johnson requested that Ms. Toth write a letter to the Board and we will look into the request from there. The Mayor also requested that she include suggestions of possible locations.
As no one else wished to be heard the meeting was adjourned.
The next meeting of the Board of Trustees will be August 6, 2013 at 8:00 p.m. at the Kenmore Municipal Building.
