EXECUTIVE SESSION TO DISCUSS TWO FINANCIAL, TWO LITIGATION, ONE CONTRACTUAL AND ONE PERSONNEL MATTER

 

            Trustee McCarthy moved to go into Executive Session to discuss two financial, two litigation, one contractual and one personnel matter.

            Seconded by Trustee Muscarella and adopted by a full vote in the affirmative.

 

            Trustee Catalano moved to end the Executive Session.

 

            Seconded by Trustee McCarthy and adopted by a full vote in the affirmative.

The meeting was called to order at 8:00 p.m. by Mayor Mang. Mayor Mang led the Pledge of Allegiance.

 

 

BOARD APPROVED THE PUBLICATION OF A LEGAL NOTICE PERTAINING TO THE TAX ROLL AND WARRANT FOR FISCAL YEAR 2008-2009.

 

            Trustee Muscarella moved to approve the publication of a Legal Notice on May 23, 2008 and May 30, 2008, pertaining to the Tax Roll and Warrant for Fiscal Year 2008-2009.  A copy of which is appended to these minutes for record purposes.

            Seconded by Trustee McCarthy and adopted by a full vote in the affirmative.

 

BOARD APPROVED YEAR END BUDGET TRANSFERS AND BUDGET AMENDMENTS.

 

            Trustee Bestine moved to approve year end transfers and budget amendments.

            Seconded by Trustee Catalano and adopted by a full vote in the affirmative.

BOARD APPROVED THE ISSUANCE OF MASTER PLUMBER’S LICENSES TO RICKIE HAMILTON, PAUL DI CARLO, GERALD E. ROBERTS AND JOSEPH LIBRERA.

 

            Trustee McCarthy moved to approve the issuance of Master Plumber’s licenses to Rickie Hamilton of 7068 Akron Road, Lockport, New York 14094, Paul DiCarlo of 7462 Chestnut Ridge Road, Lockport, New York 14094, Gerald E. Roberts of 990 Holmes Road, Silver Creek, New York 14136 and Joseph Librera of 9717 Watson Avenue, Middleport, New York 14105.

            Seconded by Trustee Muscarella and adopted by a full vote in the affirmative.

 

BOARD GRANTED APPROVAL FOR A CONTINUATION OF A FENCE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE VILLAGE OF KENMORE AND MR. & MRS. DONALD CASEY, SR. OF 383 HAMILTON BOULEVARD.

 

            Trustee Catalano moved to approve a continuation of a fence agreement between the Village of Kenmore and Mr. & Mrs. Donald Casey, Sr. of 383 Hamilton Boulevard.

            Seconded by Trustee Muscarella and adopted by a full vote in the affirmative.

 

BOARD APPROVED THE APPOINTMENT OF ELIZABETH M. SAVIO AS A PART TIME COURT CLERK FOR THE VILLAGE OF KENMORE.

            Trustee Bestine moved to approve the appointment of Elizabeth M. Savio as a part-time Court Clerk for the Village of Kenmore, effective May 21, 2008 at a pay rate of $10.45 per hour.

            Seconded by Trustee Muscarella and adopted by a full vote in the affirmative.

BOARD APPROVED MARC W. HUNT, BRIAN STACHOWIAK AND PETER D. BREITNAUER AS NEW MEMBERS FOR THE KENMORE VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT.

 

            Trustee McCarthy moved to approve Marc C. Hunt of 96 Columbia Boulevard and Brian Stachowiak of 184 Mayville Avenue as new members of the Kenmore Fire Department effective April 16, 2008 and Pater D. Breitnauer of 35 Delwood Road, effective May 5, 2008.

            Seconded by Trustee Catalano and adopted by a full vote in the affirmative.

 

BOARD APPROVED AND GRANTED PERMISSION TO WATER METER REPAIR WORKER DAVID ROOT TO ATTEND THE 2008 BACKFLOW TESTER SCHOOL.

 

            Trustee Muscarella moved to approve and granted permission to Water Meter Repair Worker David Root to attend the 2008 Backflow Tester School on September

15-18, 2008 in Rochester, New York, with expenses.

            Seconded by Trustee Bestine and adopted by a full vote in the affirmative.

 

BOARD APPROVED AND GRANTED PERMISSION TO DETECTIVE PAUL O’BRIEN TO ATTEND A SEMINAR ENTITLED “FIREARMS INVESTIGATIONS AND INTERVIEWING”.

 

            Trustee Catalano moved to approve and grant permission to Detective Paul O’Brien to attend a seminar entitled “Firearms Investigations and Interviewing” on July 8-9, 2008 at Hilbert College, with expenses.

            Seconded by Trustee Bestine and adopted by a full vote in the affirmative.

BOARD APPROVED THE HIRING OF SEASONAL WORKERS FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS.

 

            Trustee Muscarella moved to approve the hiring of seasonal workers for the Department of Public Works at a pay rate of $7.15 per hour.  A list of candidates is appended to these minutes for record purposes.

            Seconded by Trustee McCarthy and adopted by a full vote in the affirmative.

 

ABSTRACT OF AUDITED VOUCHERS.

            Trustee Bestine offered the following resolution and moved its adoption:

 

RESOLVED, that the Mayor be and he hereby is authorized to sign the Abstract of Audited Vouchers dated May 20, 2008, in the amount of $214,448.39; General Fund $171,334.04; Water Fund $763.20; Sewer Fund $42,351.15 and to direct the Treasurer to pay each of the listed claimants in the amount appearing opposite his/her name.

Seconded by Trustee Muscarella and adopted by a full vote in the affirmative.

Mayor Mang asked if any one wished to be heard.

 

As no one wished to speak the meeting was adjourned.

 

The next meeting of the Board of Trustees will be June 3, 2008 at 8:00 p.m. at the Municipal Building.
