EXECUTIVE SESSION TO DISCUSS ONE CONTRACTUAL AND TWO PERSONNEL MATTERS.

 

            Trustee McCarthy moved to go into Executive Session to discuss two contractual and two personnel matters.

            Seconded by Trustee Muscarella and adopted by a full vote in the affirmative.

 

            Trustee Muscarella moved to end the Executive Session.

 

            Seconded by Trustee McCarthy and adopted by a full vote in the affirmative.

The meeting was called to order at 8:00 p.m. by Mayor Mang. Mayor Mang led the Pledge of Allegiance.

 

 

BOARD APPROVED THE PUBLICATION OF A LEGAL NOTICE CALLING FOR A HEARING ON APRIL 22, 2008 PERTAINING TO THE 2008-2009 BUDGET.

 

            Trustee McCarthy moved to approve the publication of a legal notice calling for a hearing on April 22, 2008 pertaining to the 2008-2009 budget.

            Seconded by Trustee Catalano and adopted by a full vote in the affirmative.

 

BOARD APPROVED THE PERMANENT APPOINTMENT OF WILLIAM PHILLIPS AS CAPTAIN FOR THE KENMORE POLICE DEPARTMENT, EFFECTIVE APRIL 1, 2008.

 

            Trustee Bestine moved to approve the permanent appointment of William Phillips as Captain for the Kenmore Police Department, effective April 1, 2008.  Mayor Mang recognized and congratulated Captain Phillips who was in attendance.

            Seconded by Trustee Muscarella and adopted by a full vote in the affirmative.

BOARD APPROVED THE RE-APPOINTMENT OF THOMAS FLEMING TO THE KENMORE PLANNING BOARD.

 

            Trustee Muscarella moved to approve the re-appointment of Thomas Fleming to the Planning Board with a term to expire April 2013.

            Seconded by Trustee McCarthy and adopted by a full vote in the affirmative.

 

BOARD APPROVED AND GRANTED PERMISSION TO CHIEF OF POLICE CARL LACORTE AND ASSISTANT POLICE CHIEF PETER BREITNAUER TO ATTEND AN EXECUTIVE LAW ENFORCEMENT TRAINING SEMINAR.

 

            Trustee Catalano moved to approve and grant permission to Chief of Police Carl LaCorte and Assistant Police Chief Peter Breitnauer to attend an Executive Law Enforcement training seminar on April 16, 2008 at Hilbert College, with expenses.

            Seconded by Trustee Bestine and adopted by a full vote in the affirmative.

 

BOARD APPROVED AND GRANTED PERMISSION TO LIEUTENANT GRAMAGLIA AND DETECTIVES VACANTI AND O’BRIEN TO ATTEND A SEMINAR ENTITLED “PRODUCT COUNTERFEITING AND TRAFFICKING”.

 

            Trustee Muscarella moved to approve and grant permission to Lieutenant Gramaglia and Detectives Vacanti and O’Brien to attend a seminar entitled “Product Counterfeiting and Trafficking” on April 29, 2008 at Hilbert College, with expenses.

            Seconded by Trustee McCarthy and adopted by a full vote in the affirmative.

BOARD APPROVED AND GRANTED PERMISSION TO DETECTIVE JOSEPH VACANTI TO ATTEND A SEMINAR SPONSORED BY THE CHILD ADVOCACY CENTER.

 

            Trustee Bestine moved to approve and grant permission to Detective Joseph Vacanti to attend a seminar sponsored by the Child Advocacy Center pertaining to the investigation and resolution of sexual assault cases on April 30, 2008 in Cheektowaga, with expenses.

            Seconded by Trustee Catalano and adopted by a full vote in the affirmative.

 

BOARD APPROVED AND GRANTED PERMISSION TO SENIOR FIREFIGHTER RICHARD MAISANO TO ATTEND A SEMINAR ENTITLED “THE CHALLENGE OF PESTICIDES & POISONS”.

 

            Trustee Muscarella moved to approve and grant permission to Senior Firefighter Richard Maisano to attend a seminar entitled “The Challenge of Pesticides & Poisons” on April 7-8, 2008 at the New York State Fire Academy, with expenses.

            Seconded by Trustee Bestine and adopted by a full vote in the affirmative.

 

ABSTRACT OF AUDITED VOUCHERS.

            Trustee Bestine offered the following resolution and moved its adoption:

 

RESOLVED, that the Mayor be and he hereby is authorized to sign the Abstract of Audited Vouchers dated April 1, 2008, in the amount of $273,580.06; General Fund $201,516.42; Water Fund $56,377.18; Sewer Fund $2,876.94; Capital Fund $12,809.52 and to direct the Treasurer to pay each of the listed claimants in the amount appearing opposite his/her name.

Seconded by Trustee Muscarella and adopted by a full vote in the affirmative.

INVITATION FOR PUBLIC COMMENT/QUESTIONS

 

Mayor Mang asked if any one wished to be heard.

 

James Offen a student at Kenmore West High School asked about parking on Kenton Road.  He stated that he gets ticketed for parking there all day.  Assistant Chief Breitnauer said it is two hour parking and that is enforced at all times.

As no one else wished to speak the meeting was adjourned.

 

The next meeting of the Board of Trustees will be April 22, 2008 at 8:00 p.m. at the Municipal Building.
